However, since Atkins has been around the longest and has the most free resources, menu, and recipes and so on it tends to be the easiest of all the low carb diets to follow.
The initial stage of the Atkins diet helps you wean yourself off Sugar by drastically reducing carbohydrates from your diet. Studies have shown that Americans eats 300 grams of carbs a day. Induction makes you reduce it to 20.
A low carb diet is a good detox plan because sugar is not the only source of sugar in your diet. Table sugar is a simple carbohydrate. Brown rice, bread, pasta and so on are all complex carbohydrates. However, that means they break down into simple carbohydrates or sugar. Therefore, if you are going to cut out sugar from your diet you also really need to cut out carbohydrates.
Most people can’t stick fasting for more than a couple of days, but the Atkins diet is for life. It is one of the easiest ways to wean yourself off sugar, so give it a try and defeat that sweet tooth.
